In 2013, Brian, along with Mark Jones, were named Community Grand Marshals for the Greater Palm Springs Pride Parade because of their heavy community involvement, including spearheading the concept and efforts to bring the wildly successful attraction Forever Marilyn to Palm Springs, where it gained national and international attention, was a boon for tourism and surrounding businesses, and became viewed as an icon for the City of Palm Springs. They were also honored as Everyday Heroes in December 2014 for their extraordinary contributions to Desert AIDS Project and people affected and infected by HIV in the Coachella Valley.
